Peter Lawson

Peter Lawson is Marketing Manager of ecomagination and government programs for General Electric Co., where he is responsible for developing emissions leadership across GE's suite of products and working with various government and non-government agencies to accelerate the adoption of environmentally capable technologies.

 

Mr. Lawson began his career working for American Electric Power Co. Inc., providing technical support for several of the company's coal-fired power plants. He then joined the Propulsion Engineering department at GE Transportation Systems, advancing through a series of positions of increasing responsibility, eventually leading the Propulsion Engineering team.

 

After earning a master's degree in business administration, Mr. Lawson transitioned to the commercial side of the business, where he managed the Marketing, Sales and Field Service operation for GE's Off-Highway business. He then led the startup of the Locomotive Asia & Central Europe Sourcing operation in Prague, Bangalore, Jakarta and Shanghai. After two years working abroad he transitioned to GE Supply where he led their Sourcing & Inventory operation. In 2003 he was transferred back to GE Transportation to lead the launch of the Evolution locomotive. As the Product Manager for North American Freight Locomotives, he had responsibility for the ongoing vitality of GE's family of heavy haul freight locomotives.

 

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA.
