Curt Michols, Senior Principal Specialist Global Environment, Health, Safety and Energy; Abbott Laboratories

 

Curt Michols has more than 28 years of global EHS management experience. He joined Abbott in 2000 and is currently a Senior Principal Specialist in the Global Environment, Health, Safety and Energy group.

 

He is responsible for the implementation, direction, and continuous improvement of Abbott's global EHS due diligence program to identify and manage EHS liabilities during acquisition and divestiture of property and businesses worldwide. He also oversees Abbott's global remediation program, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to operating divisions and facilities for various other EHS programs and initiatives. These include EHS integration, compliance auditing, hazardous materials and waste management, communications and sustainable packaging.

 

Prior to joining Abbott, Mr. Michols worked for 16 years in environmental consulting, where he developed, implemented and managed EHS projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.

 

He earned his bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Illinois State University and has completed various specialty EHS technical and management training. He has presented and published on a variety of EHS topics throughout his career.

 

Mr. Herrmann has almost 20 years of experience, during which he has held roles of increasing responsibility.
